My Sparrows

Here's a painting I did last year of a little sparrow. I think of the sparrows these days as we have had two weeks of rain and overcast skies. When WILL we see the sun? I'm sure the sparrows are missing their dust baths. We have set up a stone planter the perfect size to accomodate a sparrow! Inside my husband puts sifted dirt especially so they can luxuriate and enjoy the dust. What fun they seem to be having and it's so much fun to watch them, singing and flapping away in the planter while sending up clouds of dust! When they fly off they leave in a trail of dust! Right now we see them coming to the planter only to find it covered by a slate rock. (To keep out the rain)

We took a video of one of the sparrows enjoying himself in the planter and hopefully I can post it here. It's a you tube video.

Well my choir is having their concert this afternoon and I'm off to continue practicing!

I'm enjoying retirement with my husband, doing some travelling, love painting with watercolor, conduct two choirs, and we have a Bed and Breakfast. Never a dull moment! Above is a peaceful Florida photo taken by my husband. We spend the winters there. Have any comments? I'd love to hear from you!
