"Hi Robert, Thank you very much for your winning bid! It is always nice to hear that others like my work and I'm glad the painting is going to a good home. : ) I will sign the painting in pencil at the bottom right hand side just below the bird itself.

I have never seen a Godwit since they are usually found in
warmer parts of the world in Africa and sometimes in France. I understand they are also found in Alaska and migrate to Australia. Such a long distance! I discovered or was made aware of these birds from a client in France. He had purchased several of my paintings and asked me if I would paint a Bar Tailed Godwit. Until then I had never heard of them. I did my
research and discovered how beautiful they are with their wonderful colors and long legs for wading! I love sea birds anyway and have painted many varieties native to Nova Scotia and to Florida.
Your painting is my 7th Godwit to date. I currently have #8 as an auction on eBay and it is a larger size. (8" x 10") I am interested in learning as much as I can about the birds that I paint and I've had several people make other bird suggestions. (A Lapwing, for example, was another bird I was asked to paint.)
Well, as you can see I'm entertained by all the birds I
